      <image:title>Types of Counseling - Individual Counseling</image:title>
<image:caption>Individual counseling can be helpful for anyone that is interested in learning about and understanding themselves more, or for those that are recognizing how their past may be influencing their current relationships or well-being and for those interested in improving some aspect of their own life. Individual work can be a wonderful option for those that are struggling in relationships yet have a partner that is not ready or open to counseling. We assist individuals with a range of concerns but some of our specialty areas include: Co-dependency/Boundaries Anxiety Trauma Parenting Struggles Life transitions Relationship conflict or distance Family of origin exploration Individual counseling can be adjusted to fit your preferences and needs, whether you’re just looking for a safe space to process your own thoughts and feelings or if you are eager to learn from a more psychoeducational process.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Types of Counseling - Couples Counseling</image:title>
<image:caption>Whether you’re a couple looking to prepare for marriage or a couple that has been together for decades, relationships are complex and require work. I work with pre-marriage couples to explore the journey before them, couples that are struggling to communicate well, new parents, and couples navigating difficult seasons of all kinds including changes in season of life, infidelity, addiction, trauma, and more. Doing life with another person can be a beautiful thing and can also present some difficult obstacles to navigate. In couples counseling I view the couple as my client and work with both partners to meet the goals that they have as a unit.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Types of Counseling - Family Counseling</image:title>
<image:caption>Being a self is not an easy thing to do. Being a self in a system with others makes things a little more complex and difficult at times. I love working with families to explore patterns in order to understand what is and is not working well, as well as ways to communicate more effectively and work toward healing. I have extensive training in family systems and work with clients to explore family dynamics and patterns in order to understand where they learned to do things a certain way and open doors on how to do things differently. I also use Restoration Therapy and other modalities to explore the cycles that exist between family members and address emotions that are hiding under the surface. Because children and adolescents are still developing and are not yet able to exercise as differentiated selves, family therapy is tailored based on the needs and ages of the family members attending. If you are seeking family therapy feel free to reach out. As always, if we are not the best fit for your needs, we will gladly assist you in finding someone that is.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Types of Counseling - EMDR</image:title>
<image:caption>EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is used to treat past trauma and PTSD. Different from average talk therapy, EMDR uses specific scripts and processes in conjunction with eye movements or other bi-lateral stimulation to reprocess memories in a way that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of previous disturbing life experiences. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can heal from psychological trauma just as the body recovers from physical trauma. EMDR can be done both in person and virtually.</image:caption>

<image:title>FAQ - I’ve never been to counseling before. What can I expect? It is completely NORMAL to be nervous before or even during your counseling journey. It can be helpful to remember that this is YOUR time, and YOUR space. There is NO judgement here. My goal is to provide you with a SAFE space to do the work you came to do. Part of this means building a trusting relationship and that can take a little time. I invite you to give yourself permission to be a little nervous and to remember that questions are ALWAYS welcome! If there are any concerns or uncertainties, let your therapist know. I encourage honesty from all of my clients and promise to be honest with you in return.</image:title>

<image:title>FAQ - Do you offer in person or online/virtual counseling? Both! In person sessions are available for those that prefer to meet in person and virtual is always also an option for those that prefer to schedule an appointment and meet online. In person sessions take place at our office in Round Rock, Texas, near IH35 and McNeil Rd. How does virtual counseling work? Virtual counseling can be a great resource for those who are unable or uncomfortable meeting in person. This can be a wonderful resource for those with limited time availability, scheduling conflicts, or health concerns. Virtual counseling has become much more common in the past few years, and we are able to deliver quality care online. Counseling online allows us to see and hear each other during your session. A simple link will take you to a private, secure online session. Some limitations that exist with virtual counseling include limited relational connection as the counseling relationship develops and limited observation of some signs from your body language that might be more visible in person which can impact the effectiveness of some therapy modalities.</image:title>
<image:caption>Do you offer evening or weekend appointments? At this time only week day appointments are available. The good news is, I know people! If you are in need of alternative appointment times, I am happy to provide you with referrals that may better fit your needs.</image:caption>

<image:title>FAQ - How often will we need to meet?</image:title>
<image:caption>This is a common question and does not come with a one size fits all answer. Every individual, schedule, presenting issue, financial situation and personality is different. That being said, I do recommend weekly meetings for the first 6-8 weeks of your counseling journey, although this is not necessarily required. This allows us to get to know each other and gain some traction in the process. As we continue it is possible to adjust to bi-weekly sessions based on need once there is a foundation laid in both the relationship and the work. As clients form new patterns and make change it is also common to transition to less frequent sessions later on in the process.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Bethany Licensed Professional Counselor # 79361 Brainspotting Trained, EMDR Trained</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi! I’m Bethany! I’m so glad you’re here! Welcome! The General Stuff: I have a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I am a wife, mom, ministry leader and a professional. I have personal and professional experience in a range of areas including learning to manage yourself in relationships, grief and loss, exploring and learning from past traumas, and recovery from addiction. I entered the counseling field because I have a passion for walking beside others as they explore life and grow to understand themselves, their relationships, and their circumstances better. How I Can Help: I am passionate about safe space, authenticity, change and growth! I believe in and hold hope for repairing broken hearts and relationships and have experience in everything from pre-marital counseling to affair recovery, co-dependency and addiction issues to just learning to manage the day-to-day difficulties of doing life in connection with other people. Everyone is different and we all have room to grow and learn. Whether through individual, couples, or family counseling, I work with my clients to explore their own patterns and experiences in order to better understand what is happening within them, where their patterns began, how they contribute to those patterns or relationships, and then lean into learning what they can do differently to get long term positive change. My process looks like grace and compassion paired with accountability and encouragement. While we would all love to be able to have more control over others or our circumstances, in reality, we usually only have control to change ourselves. The good news is that changing one piece in a system invites change in other pieces too! If you’re interested in learning more about how I work or think we may be a good fit, please feel free to reach out! I’d love to hear about you, your goals and how I might be able to serve you and your family.</image:caption>
